PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to significantly reduce a torque ripple of the brushless DC motor and cost and size of the driving apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a three-phase brushless DC motor(300); a three-phase inverter unit(200) including four power switching elements for supplying driving power to the three-phase brushless motor for each phase; and a driving control unit(100) for controlling a switching operation of the inverter unit, and outputting a switching control signal by dividing the signal value corresponding to a command value into harmonic components and comparing the signal value with the actual signal value in the same domain. The driving control unit includes a command signal calculating section(110); a dividing and converting section(130) for dividing the command signal into harmonic components in a frequency domain and outputting coefficient values for each component; a comparing section(150) for comparing the coefficient values with the actual signal value, and outputting the difference; and a pulse width modulation section(190) for outputting a pulse width modulation signal from the output of the comparing section.
