PURPOSE: An animation providing method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to effectively a storage space required to be enlarged for a high definition color animation by setting a background image as a frame unit data format and substituting a portion of the frame data with an object data. CONSTITUTION: When a user issues an execution command for opening an animation file(S101), a controller of a terminal reads the animation file and extracts an operation data, a background image frame data and an object image data(S102). The controller generates background frame data to be displayed at each frame(S103). The controller generates frame image data by substituting each portion of the background image frame data with the object image data(S104). The controller transfers the frame image data to a display unit through a screen buffer, and the display unit processes them to display a corresponding animation on a screen(S105).
