摘要 PURPOSE: A modular multiplier having an extensible bit is provided to implement a modular multiplier having an extended bit size by reusing a conventionally designed modular multiplier although a bit size of an encryption key of an encryption system is increased. CONSTITUTION: An input unit receives a modular multiplier, a modular multiplicand, and a modulus of 2N bit size. The input unit divides the modular multiplier and a modular multiplicand into the upper bit group of N bit size and the lower bit group of N bit size. The input unit divides the modulus into the upper bit group, the medium bit group, and the lower bit group of N bit size. The first modular multiplier unit(110) receives the upper bit group of the modular multiplier, the upper bit group of the modular multiplicand, and the upper bit group of the modulus from the input unit, and executes a modular multiply computing. The second modular multiplier unit(120) receives the upper bit group of the modular multiplier, the lower bit group of the modular multiplicand, and the medium bit group of the modulus from the input unit. The second modular multiplier unit(120) executes a modular multiply computing. The third modular multiplier unit(130) receives the lower bit group of the modular multiplier, the upper bit group of the modular multiplicand, and the medium bit group of the modulus from the input unit, and executes a modular multiply computing. The fourth modular multiplier unit(140) receives the lower bit group of the modular multiplier, the lower bit group of the modular multiplicand, and the lower bit group of the modulus from the input unit, and executes a modular multiply computing. An adder(150) adds the result values of four modular multiplier units(110-140).
