ROOIBOS FERMENTATION EXTRACT AND COSMETIC COMPOSITION CONTAINING THE SAME FOR PREVENTION OF SKIN AGING

PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing a fermentation extract of a Rooibos tea leaf, together with a conventional cosmetic composition is provided to improve the removability of active oxygen and lipoperoxidation inhibitory activity. Therefore, the composition is effective of the improvement of skin aging. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains 0.001 to 10.0% by weight of a fermentation extract of a Rooibos tea leaf, based on the total weight of the composition. The fermentation extract of a Rooibos tea leaf comprises 40 to 70% by weight of a Rooibos tea leaf, 10 to 35% by weight of a persimmon leaf, 5 to 25% by weight of jasmine. The fermentation extract is prepared by fermenting a mixture of a Rooibos tea leaf, a persimmon leaf and jasmine with a microorganism and extracting the fermented material in a solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-4 anhydrous or hydrous lower alcohol, a mixed solvent of the lower alcohol and water, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform, 1,3-butylene glycol, hexane and diethyl ether.
