PURPOSE: A device and a method for driving a liquid crystal display panel are provided to minimize the luminance change per position of an LCD panel and prevent the flickering per area of the LCD panel by applying scanning signals to gate lines in sequence and providing image information to the LCD panel by dot-inversion manner. CONSTITUTION: A device for driving a liquid crystal display panel includes an LCD panel disposed with gate and data wires perpendicularly intersecting each other, gate drivers(121-12x) for applying scanning signals to the gate lines, and data drivers for applying image information to the data lines. The gate drivers are driven in sequence repeatedly and sequentially and apply the scanning signals shifted by gate driver unit to the gate wires connected to the respective gate drivers.
