PURPOSE: An image sensor is provided to be capable of restraining generation of noise by using a light barrier layer, and improving light blocking effect. CONSTITUTION: An image sensor comprises a light receiving device(213) formed on a substrate(210) and a light barrier layer(217). The light barrier layer(217) is formed at lower portion of a metal wiring(212) for interconnecting transistors and opened on a desired region overlapped with the light receiving device(213). Also, the light barrier layer(217) is opened on a portion overlapped with contact of the metal wiring(212). The light barrier layer(217) is made of titanium nitride.
