PURPOSE: A method of controlling a kimchi refrigerator is provided to minimize the temperature deviation of each storage chamber in accordance with operation conditions by controlling the operation period of a solenoid valve and a compressor. Therefore, the temperature of a kimchi refrigerator is stably controlled at a set value. CONSTITUTION: In a kimchi refrigerator containing at least two storage chambers(2,2',2'') different in each their volume, when an inside temperature of the storage chamber(2'') of the kimchi refrigerator is positioned at the 1/4 section between an on-position and an off-position of a corresponding solenoid valve, corresponding first and second solenoid valves are switched on to cool the storage chambers(2, 2'), a compressor is switched off. As the temperature of the storage chambers reaches the set temperature, the first and second solenoid valves are switched off, the switching off of the compressor is retarded for compensatory cooling of the storage chamber, a third solenoid valve is switched on to maintain the cooling action of the storage chamber at the set temperature for a specified period of time.
