摘要 PURPOSE:To simply produce a laminated ion exchange membrane excellent in adhesiveness, permselectivity and durability by pressing and bonding an anion and a cation exchange membranes swelled with water or a hydrophilic liquid under heated conditions. CONSTITUTION:The method for laminating ion exchange membranes is to swell either or both of the exchange membranes with water, a hydrophilic liquid or a vapor thereof, then press and bond both the exchange membranes under heated conditions in forming a laminated ion exchange membrane comprising a cation and an anion exchange membranes. An anion exchange membrane prepared by introducing one anion exchange group selected from primary to tertiary amino groups and quaternary ammonium salts into a polymer containing aromatic rings in the main chain as a base material is used as the anion exchange membrane. The polymer containing the aromatic rings in the main chain is an aromatic polymer having a recurring unit expressed by the formula X-Ar-Y {X and Y each is O or S; Ar is expressed by formula I, II or III; R1 to R5 each is a 1-8C hydrocarbon; (a) is 0-3; [(b)+(c)] is 0-7; [(d)+(e)] is 0-5; R6 and R7 each is H, etc.} or an aromatic block copolymer expressed by formula IV [Z is O, etc.; R8 to R11 each is a 1-8C hydrocarbon; (m)/(n) is 0.1-100].
