<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device for an internal combustion engine capable of reducing manufacturing cost in a simple structure, certainly elminating spark lack, being made practicable, and being miniaturized. SOLUTION: In this ignition device for the internal combustion engine, a plurality of ignition coil parts 2A and 2B are interconnected in parallel which comprise an ignition coil, a power switching element for switching primary current flowing through primary coils constructing the ignition coil, and a high voltage diode for preventing flowing of current from the high voltage side of secondary coils constructing the ignition coil to an ignition plug side. Primary currents I1A and I1B of the primary coils 5A and 5B are sequentially switched, thereby continuously generating high voltage electric discharge in an ignition plug 41 disposed in a closed circuit formed from secondary coils 6A and 6B. A switching control circuit 9 for switching the primary current I1B of the primary coil 5B via a power switching element 7B using fly back voltage V1A of the primary coil 5A comprises resisters 10 and 12 and a Zener diode 11.</p> |
