PURPOSE: An emulsion resin modified with a room temperature crosslinking resin having excellent water resistance, alkaline resistance, flow property and gloss is provided. A method for preparing the same is also provided. CONSTITUTION: The emulsion resin reinforced with a room temperature crosslinking resin is prepared by the method comprising the steps of: adding a neutralizing agent to 10 to 40 wt% of an alkali soluble styrene/acrylic resin having an acid value of 190 to 210 based on the weight of a conventional monomer to neutralize the resin; introducing a mixture of the conventional monomer and a monomer having an aceto group and a polymerization initiator to the product obtained from the preceding step to perform the polymerization; and adding a diamine group containing material to the polymer product obtained from the preceding step.
