PURPOSE: Spandex fiber is characterized by having excellent color fastness when the fiber is exposed to ultraviolet light, heat and atmospheric smog(NOx gas). CONSTITUTION: The spandex fiber is comprised of: (A)0.5-3wt.% of hindered phenol compound; (B)0.01-1.5wt.% of benzo furan-on type compound; (C)0.2-2wt.% of semi-carbazide compound; and 0.2-5wt.% of one selected from (D)polyurethane having tertiary nitrogen or (E)poly(N,N-diethyl-2-amino ethyl methacrylate). The hindered phenol compound(A) is selected from ethylenebis(oxyethylene) bis-(3-(5-t-butyl-4-hydroxy- m-toil)-propionate) and 3,9-bis(2-(3-(3-t-butyl-4-hydroxy-5-methylphenyl)propionyl oxy)-1,1-dimethyl ethyl)2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspyro(5,5)undecane. The benzo furan-on type compound(B) is 5,7-di-t-butyl-3-(3,4 di-methyl phenyl)-3H-benzo furan-2-on. The semi-carbazide compound(C) is selected from the group containing 1,1,1'1'-tetra methyl-4,4'-methylene-di-p-phenylene di semi-carbazide, buret tri-tri(hexa methylene-N,N- dimethyl carbazide) or 1,6-hexa methylene bis(N,N-dimethyl semi-carbazide).
