PURPOSE: A control method for detection of abnormal loading of a workpiece is provided to prevent breakage of the workpiece or the machine tool by processing after checking the kind of the workpiece according to load of a main shaft. CONSTITUTION: Detection of load of a main shaft is checked in starting processing(S1,S2). The kind of a workpiece is decided according to the command of detection of load(S4). The main shaft load of the workpiece A is detected in detecting the workpiece A, and the measure load is compared with the reference value(S6). A pallet is changed in case of the main shaft load to be less than the reference value(S7,S8). The main shaft load of the workpiece B is detected in deciding the workpiece B, and the measured load is compared with the reference value of the workpiece B(S11). The pallet is changed in case of the main shaft load to be less than the reference value(S12), and the workpiece is processed in case of the main shaft load to be over the reference load(S13). Damage of the tool or the workpiece is prevented by changing the workpiece with detecting load of the main shaft.
