PURPOSE: A method for generating charging data by contents in a mobile communication system is provided to charge a user by contents by generating charging data of each application at a GGSN(Gateway GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) Supporting Node) serving as a gateway between a terminal and an Internet network. CONSTITUTION: A connection procedure is performed between a mobile terminal(201) and a base station controller(202)(211). The mobile terminal(201) requests a PDP(Packet Data Protocol) context from an SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node)(203)(212). The SGSN(203) transfers a PDP context generation request message to a GGSN(204)(213). The GGSN(204) generates a charging ID and transfers a response to the PDP context generation request to the SGSN(203)(214). The SGSN(203) transfers a response to the PDP context request to the mobile terminal(201)(215). The mobile terminal(201) uses a contents service through a contents server(207)(216). When the contents service is finished, a PDP context non-activation procedure is performed between the mobile terminal(201) and the GGSN(204)(217). The SGSN(203) and the GGSN(204) transfer a CDR(Charging Data Record) generated during the use of the contents service to a charging gateway(205)(218,219). The charging gateway(205) transfers charging data to a charging server(206)(220).
