RETURNING APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING STROKE OF STEERING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A returning apparatus to adjust stroke of a steering system is provided to return a steering wheel in a free condition without outer force and to control a maximum steering angle. CONSTITUTION: A returning apparatus to adjust stroke of a steering system includes an operating shaft(20); a cylinder(30); a slider(40); a stopper(50); a spring(60); an operating force transmitting device(70) and a stroke adjusting member(80). The operating shaft is interlocked to a steering wheel shaft(11) to be moved as rectilinear reciprocation. The operating shaft has an elongated pin guide hole(21) of the operating shaft to receive maximum operating stroke of the steering wheel shaft. The cylinder has a tubular portion(31) and an elongated pin guide hole(32). The tubular portion has a support hole(31a) to guide rectilinear reciprocation of the operating shaft by being hinged to the steering system on one end. The elongated pin guide hole is incised on the tubular portion same length as the pin guide elongated hole. The slider and the stopper are faced each other on an outer peripheral surface of both ends of the cylinder. The spring is supported by the slider and the stopper respectively on both ends. The operating force transmitting device transmits operating force of the operating shaft to the slider or the stopper selectively to compress the spring. The stroke adjusting member adjusts stroke of the operating shaft by being combined to the slider. Thereby, returning the steering wheel and maximum angle of the steering wheel are controlled at the same time with adjusting the stroke.
