PURPOSE: A method for printing data through the find and the replacement is provided to make a printer output the data by converting only a specific letter into other letter in case that a user print plural documents which differs form a specific part of the document. CONSTITUTION: If a user selects an instruction for starting the printing, the data generated from a host application is output to the printer(10). The printer judges that a letter string corresponding to the find exists in the letter information transferred from a host by searching the letter information(20,30). In case that the letter string exists, the letter string corresponding to the find is replaced with the letter string set by the replacement(40). After converting the print data transferred from the host into a printing image such as a bitmap image by an interpreting or emulation operation, the printer outputs the image according to the printing image by a print engine(50).
