Extracts from bacterial symbionts of leeches, useful e.g. as anticoagulant, antiinflammatory or thrombolytic agents, prepared from cultured digestive tract bacteria

Preparation of an active bacterial extract (A) from leeches comprising: (i) taking samples of Aeromonas able to produce at least some components of (A) from the digestive tube of leeches; (ii) culturing the bacteria; (iii) separating them from culture medium; and (iv) extracting at least some active components produced by the bacteria, is new. An Independent claim is also included for non-irritant (A) produced this way.
