PURPOSE: A surface-emitting lamp is provided to realize high brightness by minimizing the loss of light due to a medium, to reduce the defect due to the damage on a prism sheet by excluding the prism sheet, and to solve the problem of light streaming due to the shape matching of a lamp and a lamp housing. CONSTITUTION: A surface-emitting lamp comprises upper and lower substrates(21,21a) and first to fourth side substrates(29a,29c) forming a discharge space(26), a support bar(22) keeping the interval between the upper and lower substrates, a fluorescent layer(28) coated on the inner walls of the upper and lower substrates, and first and second electrodes(23,23a) mounted on the first and third side substrates. A discharge gas is filled between the upper and lower substrates.
