PURPOSE: A flash memory controller is provided to access different flash memory type through the automatic type detection of a flash memory by using that an AND type and a NAND type flash memory use a command type different from each other. CONSTITUTION: The flash memory controller has a similar structure of the conventional flash memory controller, and additionally includes a flash selection register(441) and a flash selection block(442). A flash selection register(441) remembers a certain bit of each type. A flash selection block(442) outputs a command group of each type according to the certain bit of the flash selection register(441).
