PURPOSE: A system and a method for managing a charging file in an ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) exchange are provided to divide the charging file to produce a charging multi-file, and to dump and transmit each file unit by managing the charging multi-file, thereby facilitating CAMA(Central Automatic Message Accounting) implementation and preventing the damage of charging data even when an error is generated in a part of a disk. CONSTITUTION: A charging multi-file generator(310) generates a charging multi-file(340) composed of at least two files storing charging data related to call processing in a call processing unit(300). A charging multi-file manager(320) receives new charging multi-file information and charging multi-file update information on the charging multi-file(340) generated or updated in the charging multi-file generator(310), and generates or updates, and then stores a charging multiple information file storing information data on the charging multi-file(340). The charging multi-file generator(310) comprises a charging data collector(311) collecting the charging data, and a charging data storage(312) storing the charging data of each call type. The charging multi-file manager(320) comprises a multi-file monitor(380) monitoring the generation and management of corresponding files in a disk, and a file information directory(370) managing entire counter information and entire file information about charging data processing by call types.
