PURPOSE: A diversity device of a mobile communication terminal and a method therefor are provided to have GPS(Global Positioning System) and CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) receive diversity effects by adding simple circuits on an antenna unit of the mobile communication terminal providing GPS and CDMA functions, thereby enhancing a network channel capacity and a data transfer rate. CONSTITUTION: At least two multiband antennas(310,312) respectively receive RF(Radio Frequency) signals generated as GPS signals are mixed with mobile communication signals. At least two power detectors(320,322) respectively detect RSSIs(Receive Signal Strength Identifiers) of the RF signals received by the at least two multiband antennas(310,312). A comparator(330) mutually compares the RSSIs detected by the at least two power detectors(320,322), to generate a control signal for selecting an RF signal having the highest RSSI. A switch(340) selects one RF signal among the received RF signals by responding to the control signal generated by the comparator(330). And an RF receiver(350) processes the RF signal selected by the switch(340).
