PURPOSE: A method for updating an RIP(Routing Information Protocol) of a PDSN(Packet Data Service Node) system is provided to check original addresses of received update messages in all HLP(Higher Layer Processing) boards included in the PDSN system and not to affect the update messages inputted from neighboring HLP boards to self routing tables. CONSTITUTION: Each HLP board attaches the self IP address to the packets and transmits the packets to the neighboring HLP boards(S31). The HLP boards included in a PDSN system start RIP sessions, and periodically transceive the RIP update messages(S32,S33). Each HLP board obtains address information of the neighboring HLP boards of the PDSN system, and abandons the RIP update messages inputted from corresponding addresses without updating the messages in self routing tables, not to transmit incorrect information to a router(S34,S35,S36). If the RIP update messages are not inputted from the neighboring HLP boards, the HLP boards update the routing tables(S37).
