<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for alkaline battery exhibiting excellent liquid holding properties for electrolyte and durability. <P>SOLUTION: The separator for alkaline battery is produced by coating a gas/liquid permeable porous basic material with a hydrophilic coating liquid composition containing (A) hydrophilic graft polymer obtained by introducing a hydrophilic polymer side chain into a trunk polymer reactive on a crosslinking agent and (B) the crosslinking agent, and then drying and heating it thereby forming a hydrophilic layer having a crosslinking structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
