PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify update data description and reduce a time-consuming operation when requesting to update the settings of Internet facsimile machine remotely. SOLUTION: An electronic mail is used for remotely referring to or updating the settings of the Internet facsimile machine. To instruct updating the machine settings using the electronic mail, the format containing a reference result having been received before is applied for rewriting the update data.
