PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release mechanism that can automatically take out the push plate by automatically releasing the latch mechanism which latches the push plate. SOLUTION: This is an IC socket that comprises a socket unit on which a plurality of contacts are provided in a row, a push plate that is installed on the socket unit and pushes down the IC package, and a latch mechanism that locks the push plate.
