PURPOSE: A limited authentication service method of an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) upon down of an HLR(Home Location Register) database in a mobile communication network and a device therefor are provided to perform authorization/authentication of a subscriber by using a virtual HLR table registered by an operator, in response to HLR access unavailability of a home MSC due to a fault of a network element. CONSTITUTION: If a subscriber terminal moves to a new region and originates a call, a BSC(Base Station Controller) managing a BTS(Base Transceiver System) of the new region transmits an originating call request message to a visitor MSC(40). The visitor MSC requests originating information to a VLR(Visitor Location Register)(42). The VLR transmits a location registration message to an HLR of a home MSC(44). If a response for the location registration message is not received in a predetermined time, the VLR decides an error of the HLR or a message loss(45). The VLR searches a virtual HLR database corresponding to an SPC(Signaling Point Code) of the HLR(46). If dialing digit information of the subscriber terminal is arranged within an authenticated class, the VLR records virtual basic information of a subscriber in a subscriber database set in an internal memory to register virtual roaming information(48). The VLR notifies virtual originating information to the visitor MSC to respond to the originating information request(50). The visitor MSC transmits a message of notifying the progress of the originating call to the corresponding BSC(52), to perform normal call processing(54). |
