PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dust, generated at the time of starting an indoor unit 10, from being diffused into a room. SOLUTION: At the time of starting operation of the indoor unit 10, opening of a flap 17 is decreased to bring about an air short mode where the air supplied from an air outlet 15 is not diffused into a room but sucked, as it is, from a front air inlet 12 and an upper surface air inlet 14 and passed through a dust collection filter 20 thus accelerating settlement of dust adhering to the inside of the indoor unit 10 at the time of starting operation. Dust generated at the time of starting the indoor unit 10 can thereby be prevented from being diffused into the room.
