<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable charger, and a method for supplying power using the portable charger, in which power can be supplied stably even in case of long time use under an environment not satisfying power generation conditions and power generating conditions can be confirmed. <P>SOLUTION: Power is generated using a portable charger which can be fixed removably to a portable telephone and a secondary battery is charged with power thus generated. Voltage of power being supplied from the secondary battery to the portable telephone is detected, and if it is lower than a predetermined level, power supply to the portable telephone is switched from the secondary battery to a primary battery. If the detected voltage is lower than the predetermined level when a call terminating at the portable telephone is recognized, power is supplied from the primary battery only for a predetermined time interval.
