<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonacqueous secondary battery having sufficient storage characteristics and high rate discharge characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The nonacqueous secondary battery comprises a positive electrode having a positive electrode active substance layer containing a transition metal composite oxide containing lithium formed on a current collector, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte wherein the transition metal composite oxide containing lithium has a maximum diffraction peak in X-ray diffraction employing a CuKα-ray in 10°<2θ<20° as a single peak, the intensity of a peak existing in 20°<2θ<25° is lower than 1/10 that of the maximum diffraction peak, the positive electrode active substance layer has a thickness of 0.05-0.25 mm, and a filling density is 0.8-5 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
