<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium battery having reinforcing bands disposed on cell peripheries for purpose of keeping assembly arrangement and unification of cells, and for purpose of protecting end portions and edges of the cell assembly when the cell assembly is assembled and when the lithium battery is used. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium battery 10 consists of a plurality of cells 20, and each cell 20 comprises positive electrode members, negative electrode members, and separator layers which are disposed between the positive electrode members and the negative electrode members. The first flat metal mesh layer has a tab which extends from the separator and prescribes a negative electrode lead which is on a plane on which the tab is, and the second flat metal mesh layer has a tab which extends from the separator and forms a positive electrode lead which is on a plane on which the tab is. A plurality of reinforcing bands 60a to 60d are attached to the peripheries of the cells 20 and they protect the whole cells 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
