BLUE FLUORESCENT SUBSTANCE FOR FLUORESCENT DISPLAY AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A blue fluorescent substance for the fluorescent display and its preparation method are provided, to prevent the destruction of a fluorescent substance due to the electron irradiation for a long period, to improve the luminous efficiency and to lower the temperature required for the synthesis of the substance. CONSTITUTION: The blue fluorescent substance is obtained from the mixture of a host comprising strontium carbonate(SrCO3) and an activator comprising a cerium compound in the ratio of 1:0.01 to 1:0.5 by mol. Preferably the cerium compound is CeO2. The method comprises the steps of uniformly mixing strontium carbonate and the cerium compound(10); and heating the mixture(20). Preferably the heating process is carried out at a temperature of 800-900 deg.C for 12-36 hours.
