摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup signal processing apparatus and a flicker detection method for easily detecting flicker frequency from an image pickup signal from a CMOS sensor. SOLUTION: The image pickup signal processing apparatus divides an image in a vertical scanning direction to set a plurality of flicker detection frames, and a flicker detection circuit 270 detects luminance data by each flicker detection frame. Then a microcomputer 240 and a flicker frequency discrimination program take a difference of luminance data of two preceding and succeeding frames by each flicker detection frame to extract a flicker component and to calculate a flicker frequency. Then measuring to what degree of an interval of the flicker detection frame a notch or loop of the extracted flicker component is produced replaces the result with a frequency. Further, a frame rate of the image pickup signal and a flicker frequency are adjusted so as not to be synchronous with each other in order to prevent the flicker component from disappearing when a difference between the preceding and succeeding frames is taken.
