PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the speed of a pulse motor and the disassembling performance thereof, and to increase the speed and reading accuracy of an image reader using the pulse motor. SOLUTION: A plurality of pulse motors are connected in series so that the phases of rotors of the motors are equally shifted to the phases of stators thereof. A drive system is arranged so that an integral multiple of an amount corresponding to the equal phase shift of the pulse motors is a feed amount of a basic resolution of an image reader.
