PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-power directional coupler of low cost having a better performance characteristics compared with a high-power directional coupler of machined metal parts. SOLUTION: The high-power directional coupler is formed of a substrate such as a dielectric printed circuit board. A through arm 20 and a coupled arm 30 of the coupler comprise a conductor 50 plated on an upper part 100, a bottom part 110, and an edge part 120 of dielectric material which is entirely housed in the conductor 50. A metal package 60 enclosing the coupler constitutes an outer ground. Thin non-conductive struts 40 of thin dielectric material of the printed circuit board interconnect the separate arms 20 and 30 of the coupler.
