<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture recording and reproducing device which edits the terminal part of a stream to be left in the unit nearer to a user's designated time than conventional one in the case of editing for deletion of the rear part of a program stream of pictures. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of editing video data recorded as an MPEG program stream, processing is performed in the unit of reference pictures (with three frames as a unit). That is, information of the terminal part of the stream to be left is inputted (S1), and a reference picture in a GOP (group of picture) corresponding to information of the terminal part is determined (S2), and the picture just preceding the determined reference picture is decided as the last picture of the stream to be left (S3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
