PURPOSE: A POS(Point Of Sale System) system using a portable non-contact type recording medium is provided to process the transaction information normally even if a network is failed. CONSTITUTION: A reader reads the information recorded on the portable recording medium, and records the new information to the portable recording medium. A read information analysis unit(106.1) analyzes the information related to a user and the transaction information from the information read by the reader. A transaction information operation unit(106.2) receives the transaction information settled from a POS server if a connection state with the POS server is normal. In case of the abnormal connection state, the transaction information operation unit(106.2) judges that the user can perform the desired transaction, settles the transaction information, and transmits the settled transaction information to the POS server after recovering the connection state with the POS server. A network interface unit(106.3) judges the connection state with the POS server, and transmits/receives the data with the POS server if the connection state is normal.
