<p>PURPOSE: A method for managing power in an IMT-2000 system is provided to transmit a management initial request message to a node B after setting a call, and to define new DL(Down Link) minimal and maximum values based on a received management response message, thereby efficiently distributing resources. CONSTITUTION: An RNC obtains RSCP(Received Signal Code Power) or an Ec/NO value from an RRC access request message, and obtains a DL initial power value and minimal/maximum values of DL power. The RNC sets the minimal/maximum values in an RL(Radio Link) setup request message, and transmits the message to a base station modem. The base station modem resets minimal/maximum values of new DL power, and reconfigures a wireless link. An initial measurement request message is transmitted to the modem, to request to measure a DL power value. The modem measures the power value, and transmits a measurement response message to the RNC if the measured value is near to the minimal/maximum range. The RNC controls the minimal/maximum values, and confirms whether available DL power exists in a cell. The RNC corrects minimal/maximum power, transmits the power to the base station modem, to control the minimal/maximum values.</p> |
