PURPOSE: A system and a method for designing a television combined with an optical equipment recorder are provided to easily upgrade a DVD-ROM constructing a combined TV and DVD-ROM apparatus, and standardize the design of a TV system regardless of types of the DVD-ROM. CONSTITUTION: A combined television and optical equipment system includes a TV circuit block(110) including a master micro processor(110-1) generally controlling the combined television and optical equipment system, and processing TV A/V signals and optical equipment A/V regenerating signals; an interface block(120) including a slave micro processor(120-1) transmitting and receiving data through a serial interface with the master micro processor and executing data communication with the optical equipment by an ATAPI(AT Attachment Packet Interface) communication protocol, thereby decoding the signals generated from the optical equipment to transmit to the TV circuit block; and a DVD-ROM block(200) combined by the interface block and an ATAPI connecting terminal, and regenerating the signals recorded at a disk by executing a mode corresponding to control data transmitted to the ATAPI connecting terminal to output the regenerated signals to the interface block.
