<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the coexistence between elderly people and vehicles and to help the elderly people use the vehicles belonging to the elderly people to go out by reducing a driving load when the elderly people use the vehicles to travel to a destination. <P>SOLUTION: A transportation system using vehicle following travel has a step St1 for receiving an appointment about a transportation service from communication terminals 21a and 21b of customers through a communication line, steps St2 to 5 for arranging a company vehicle 12 so as to join a customer vehicle 22 at a place and a time appointed for assembling in accordance with the appointment, a step St6 for guiding the customer vehicle 22 from the place appointed for assembling to an appointed destination while making the customer vehicle 22 followingly travel after the company vehicle 12 under prescribed traveling conditions (prescribed distance between vehicles Dref and on the same traffic lane Lref), and steps St7 and 8 for making a payment for a service charge on the basis of the travel distance and the travel time of the customer vehicle after the transportation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
