PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless communication method that uses various pieces of information such as positional information and electronic map information usable on a mobile body so as to predict a radio wave communication state, thereby setting a communication method and enhancing the communication efficiency. SOLUTION: A moving path is estimated on the basis of electronic map data and target value information stored in a mobile body. The shield state of a radio wave as a function of time is predicted on the basis of the moving speed and current position of the mobile body, the position of a satellite and building data in an electronic map along the estimated moving path. The predicted shield time and a packet reception (transmission) time are compared according to their relative relation on the basis of the prediction of shield to decide a packet transmission method to be used. The mobile body side transmits the decided packet transmission system to an opposite station (base station) as a communication method control message. Then the mobile body and the opposite station conduct communications according to the communication method designated by the communication method control message. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
