PURPOSE: A WML(Wireless Markup Language) encoding method for transmitting high-capacity data is provided to encode data as well as tag and attribute command information if size of data configured in WML is big, and to transmit the encoded data, thereby reducing transmission time of the data. CONSTITUTION: If a user requests contents data(S101), a WAP gateway transmits the request to a web server. The web server configures corresponding contents in WML and WML script, and transmits the contents to the WAP gateway(S102). The WAP gateway removes an undefined tag, an attribute command, and a space(S103), and replaces the tag and the attribute command with binary values(S104). After completing encoding of the tag and the attribute command, the WAP gateway compresses data(S105), and transmits encoded data to a user through a wireless network(S106).
