PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily switch pictures. SOLUTION: A multi-stage connection type video switching system is constituted by connecting a plurality of stages of video switches 20 hierarchically and selects one of video signals inputted from respective personal computers 1 to display the selected video signal on a projector 1. Each input part 21 of a video switch 20 is so designed to receive a switching signal together with a video signal, and the video switch 20 is provided with a video switching means which selects a video signal inputted to the input part 21 as an effective video signal when the switching signal is inputted to the input part 21 and outputs the selected video signal from an output part 22 to the outside together with the switching signal. Further, a cable 33 which connects the input part 21 of the lowest-order video switch 20-Z and each personal computer 2 is provided with a switch 35 which inputs the switching signal to the input part 21 of the video switch 20.
