<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain superior coloration and decorativeness by making a light emission part emit light freely at desired time. <P>SOLUTION: A light emitting device comprises a timepiece glass 3 formed by stacking two glass plates 14 and 15, a light emission part 17 which is provided between the glass plates 14 and 15 are reacts to ultraviolet rays to emit colored light, and an ultraviolet light emitting element 19 which irradiates the light emission part 17 with light in the ultraviolet range. Thereby, when the ultraviolet light 19 is made to emit light, the light emission part 17 arranged between the glass plates 14 and 15 is irradiated with the light in the ultraviolet range to cause the light emission part 17 to react to the ultraviolet rays and emit the colored light, thus the light emission part 17 can freely be made to emit the colored light by making the ultraviolet light emitting element 19 at desired time and the light emission part 17 having emitted the colored light appears to float in the timepiece glass 3 since the light emission part 17 is provided between the upper and lower glass plates 14 and 15, thereby obtaining the superior coloration and decorativeness. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
