PURPOSE: A database performance managing method is provided to catch and manage a database performance problem so that it can efficiently solve the performance problem without a help of a specific expert. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. A user makes a real time monitoring on multiple instances(S10), and pays attention to a problematic instance via a data log analysis(S20). The user monitors a current state of a corresponding instance(S30), and checks a cause of a performance drop(S40). In a case that there exists the cause in a DBMS, a structure of the DBMS gets changed(S50, S70), and in a case that there exists the cause in an SQL, the SQL is tuned and simulated(S60, S80). The DBMS structure change or the SQL tuning result is tested and applied(S90), and the result is optimized(S95).
