PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the position of a mobile station on the basis of communications between a fixed base station and a moving mobile station. SOLUTION: The base station 10 is provided with N base station transmission/reception antennas 20. The N antennas 20 respectively have wireless zones being areas where communications with the mobile station are possible. One data frame for the communications between the base station and the mobile station includes N slots which are corresponding one to one to the N wireless zones. The presence of the mobile station in the wireless zone corresponding to the slot when communications are made with the mobile station 12 is discriminated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
