<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet transfer device that can preferentially control communication without restricting the utilizable capacity of a buffer memory at every user and can be simplified in constitution. <P>SOLUTION: This packet transfer device 132 has a storing mean 200 that stores preferential packet information correlating the first communication priority of a first packet received through a communication network with the header information of the first packet, a changing means 204 that changes the first communication priority of the preferential packet information corresponding to a second packet based on the comparison between the downward traffic at every constant interval of time corresponding to the header information measured by means of a measuring means 202 and a preset prescribed value upon receiving a second packet sent to the transmitter of the first packet, and a transfer means 206 that transfers the second packet having the changed preferential packet information to a repeater in the communication network. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
