PURPOSE: A Cr-added ferritic stainless steel with good elongation and clarity is provided, which exhibits decreased crack propagation. CONSTITUTION: In a ferritic stainless steel that is deoxidized by the addition of Si after decarburization in AOD refining furnace, the ferritic stainless steel comprises 16 to 19 wt.% of Cr and 0.50 wt.% or less of Ni, and Si concentration of the ferritic stainless steel after deoxidation is regulated within 0.15 to 0.30 wt.%. Further, Ca is preferably added for deoxidation and residual Ca concentration of the ferritic steel after Ca deoxidation is regulated within 5 to 15 ppm.
