<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly deal with varying utilization of a DA tool or the like by charging for utilization according to time interval. <P>SOLUTION: When a DA tool is started in a DA tool utilization terminal 3<SB>1</SB>, the start time is coded by a license management server 2 and stored away as a utilization time accumulation file TF. Then, the DA tool becomes available for use, and a user utilizes the DA tool for designing a semiconductor device or the like. When DA tool utilization is ended, the end time is coded by the license management server 2 and stored away as the utilization time accumulation file TF. A utilization time information retrieving server 4 decodes the utilization time accumulation file TF transmitted from the license management server 2 and counts DA tool utilization time each with DA tool utilization terminals 3<SB>1</SB>to 3<SB>n</SB>, and charges by the respective utilization time interval. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
