PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply unit capable of improving conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: This switching power supply unit comprises a capacitor C1 which is connected between one end of a primary winding 4a of a transformer 4 and a driving circuit 2 and is charged and discharged through the primary winding 4a, a capacitor C2 which is connected between one end of a primary winding 5a of a transformer 5 and a driving circuit 3 and is charged and discharged through the primary winding 5a, a group 6 of switching devices which is turned on by a drive signal Sd1 induced in secondary windings 4b, 4c based on the current passing through the primary winding 4a when the capacitor C1 is discharged, and a group 7 of switching devices which is turned on by a drive signal Sd2 induced in secondary windings 5b, 5c based on the current passing through the primary winding 5a when the capacitor C2 is discharged. The switching power supply is also provided with a capacitor C3 connected between the other end of the primary winding 4a and one end of the primary winding 5a, and a capacitor C4 connected between one end of the primary winding 4a and the other end of the primary winding 5a.
