POLYTRIMETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE BULKY CONTINUOUS FILAMENT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF CARPET

PURPOSE: Polytrimethylene terephthalate bulky continuous filament has excellent strength. A carpet is manufactured with the bulky continuous filament. The carpet has excellent abrasion resistance, excellent quality and functionality. CONSTITUTION: The polytrimethylene terephthalate bulky continuous filament is obtained by the steps of: melt-spinning PTT polymer having 0.6-1.2 of inherent viscosity and under 100ppm of moisture at 245-265deg.C through a nozzle having 1.5-3.5 of modifying degree; cooling the filament on a quenching area(3) with air having speed of 0.4-0.6m/sec to 10-25deg.C; oiling the quenched filament with a knit type oil or a water-soluble oil on spin-finishing; feeding the filament from a pretension roller(5) to a first drawing roller(6) at 650-1600m/min. and drawing the filament with the drawing roller at speed of 1.005-1.2 times as fast as the pretension roller; drawing the filament on a second drawing roller(7) at 130-200deg.C at speed of 2.4-3.8 times as fast as the first drawing roller; passing the filament through a texturing unit(8) having a texturing nozzle to give 10-50% of crimp to the filament; cooling the crimp filament on a cooling drum(9) to 15-22deg.C, followed by confounding on 10-40times/m with an interlacer(10); passing the confounded filament through a relax roller at speed of 0.75-0.9 times as fast as the second drawing roller to give 10-25% of relax; and then winding the BCF at 1700-2800m/min. The carpet is obtained by the steps of: doubling the PTT BCF on a cabling twister on S-twist or Z-twist to manufacture two doubled yarn or three doubled yarn; thermal-setting the yarns with an autoclave or a super bar; planting piles on a PET or a PP base fabrics on a tufting machine having 1/8, 5/32 or 1/10 gauge; dyeing the tufted carpet with a disperse dyes at normal pressure; coating the carpet with latex, followed by bonding the carpet to a second base fabric; and then shearing the carpet with a spiral knife.
