PURPOSE: A method for coating a protective layer of a reverse stacking disk is provided to uniformly form thickness of the protective layer, thereby improving recording and playing characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A disk formed in a layer structure including a recording layer is prepared. A resin coating film is formed on a surface of the disk by a spin coating. Another resin coating film is formed on a surface of a transparent plate to have the same area as the resin coating film formed on the surface of the disk. The disk and the transparent plate are arranged to face each resin coated surfaces. Compression force is applied to non-coated surfaces of the disk and the transparent plate. Ultraviolet rays are irradiated from the transparent for hardening the resin coating film. The transparent plate is removed.
